External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that China occupies 38,000 square kilometers of Indian territory!  

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, "China is in illegal occupation of 38,000 square kilometers of Indian territory in Aksai Chin as a result of the 1962 conflict and earlier incidents. Apart from this, Pakistan illegally handed over Indian territory to China in 1963." India and China have held talks for several decades to resolve the border issue, while there is no common understanding in some areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). In 2003 we finalized the declaration of principles of our relations and comprehensive cooperation, including the appointment of special representatives to implement confidence-building measures along the LAC.
